The Kenyan political class is at it again. With barely a year to the next elections, they are at it - funerals, fund raisers, churches, social events, churchil live. They are spewing all manner of vitriol as they engage in political chessboard.
Never mind that we have a constitution to implement and a nation to feed. Kenyan politics and the politicians is everything a sane man would love to forget. They have let us down time and again on issues of national importance. They love to attend conferences and breakfast meetings to 'talk' about national policy. Amid belches and wind-passing, they tell us how it is a tragedy that 45 years after independence we still lag behind on development. How I miss Tom Mboya, JM Kariuki, Oginga Odinga and the selfless leaders who wanted a better kenya for all.
I am ashamed that we are still relying on relief food, yet the country is well endowed with enough water to feed itself. The rain spread country wide is more than fair.Malawi's Mbingu Wa Mutharika offers life-lessons that those interested in becoming president should take a keen look at. About 7 years ago, Malawi was a basket-case country relying on food aid to keep the country going. About five years ago, Malawi had enough to feed itself. ironically, Kenya is among the countries that recently imported grains from malawi. what a pity. One co-principal is all-talk and no action. The other is as dead as dodo. Occassionally springing himslef to lofe just to embarras himslef before going back to sleep.
I think its high time Kenyans chose wisely. Amongst all the presidential parade, I see no one with the seriousnes to lead this country from the front. Everybody is looking for political survival. If am wrong, ask Raila Odinga what went wrong with the Mau initiative.
